Building High-Converting Message Sequences

Create drip campaigns that get replies and convert prospects.

15 min read

A single message rarely gets a response. The magic happens in the follow-up sequence. This guide shows you how to build sequences that convert.

The Perfect Sequence Length

Research shows that most responses come after 3-5 touchpoints. Our recommended sequence:

  • Connection request with brief intro
  • First message: Value-focused introduction
  • Follow-up 1 (3-4 days): Share relevant content
  • Follow-up 2 (4-5 days): Ask a question
  • Follow-up 3 (5-7 days): Break-up message

Writing Each Message

Each message should have a single purpose and feel like a natural continuation. Don't repeat yourself - each touchpoint should add new value.

The Break-Up Message

Your final message should acknowledge they're busy and leave the door open. This "break-up" message often gets the highest response rate because it removes pressure.

A/B Testing Your Sequences

Use LeadContacter's A/B testing to try different message variations. Test one element at a time (subject line, opening line, CTA) to identify what works best.
